A faulty phone is incredibly frustrating, and it’s even more aggravating when you can’t figure out what’s wrong with it. Phones are like a third arm, so when it phone breaks, we don’t know what to do.
The good news is that a lot of cellular phone problems are common, and there are several troubleshooting tips you can try.
To save you some time, here are five common phone problems and what you can do to fix them!
1. Weak Battery Life
Battery life is one of the most common issues associated with phones.
There are a few things you can do to mitigate this problem. Try dimming the brightness when possible and utilize the battery saving mode if you have it. The battery saving mode can be found in your settings menu when you click on the location option.
Turning off your Wifi, Bluetooth, and GPS settings is also an excellent way to conserve battery.
If none of this helps your battery issue, you may need to invest in a new battery.
2. Phone Keeps Freezing
If your phone keeps freezing, the first thing you should do is force a shutdown. Restart your phone entirely and see if this helps.
If the problem persists, you may need to clean up your phone. If you have a ton of apps running in the background of your phone, it can slow it down and cause it to freeze.
Try closing some of the apps, cleaning the cache, and delete programs you no longer need.
3. Overheating Phone
Overheating is bad for technology, and it’s certainly not good for your phone. If your phone is overheating, it could be related to your battery or where you keep your phone.
First, check the battery usage in your phone and see if there are apps draining your phone. Overheating is common when your phone is trying to compensate.
If that doesn’t work, pay attention to where you put your phone. Keep it out of hot areas, especially places where it’s exposed to the sun. Give your phone time to “cool” off before you use it again.
4. Wet Phone
Another frustrating problem is when your phone gets wet. If this happens, try not to panic and resist the urge to turn it on.
Try putting it in a bowl of dry rice. Though it sounds silly, it can help dry out your phone. Leave it there for at least 24 hours.
Then, take it to a shop for broken phone repair. A phone technician can give you your options.
5. Apps are Crashing
To stop your apps from crashing, start by restarting your phone and trying the app again. Next, delete the app and then re-download it.
If this still doesn’t solve the problem, go to the App manager, stop the app from running, and clean the cache data.
If you’re still having issues, go into the app store and see if others are having similar problems. There could be helpful comments and tips for solving it.
